
This August 2 workshops are being offered to help children have a successful transition back to school.
The first workshop is appropriate for children entering kindergarten in September 2022. Through hands-on, play based activities children will review math and literacy concepts to help them succeed in the transition to kindergarten. Perhaps even more important than academic readiness is social and cognitive readiness. Activities will help children practice following multi-step directions, how to solve a conflict with peers, taking turns, working in a group, self-regulation, fine motor strength, and more! The second workshop is appropriate for children entering 1st or 2nd grade in September 2022. Through hands-on, play based activities children will review math and literacy concepts to support any "summer slide" that may have occurred in learning. Activities will review phonemic awareness, phonics, sight words, number sense, math operations, etc. In addition to the academic goals, children will be provided ample opportunities to practice following multi-step directions, how to solve a conflict with peers, taking turns, working in a group, self-regulation, fine motor strength, and more!
